Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known by his stage name Eminem moved here with his mother Debbie when he was 11 years old.

Mathers spent much of his youth in this lower-middle-class, primarily African-American neighborhood in Detroit. He and his mother were one of only three white households on the block.

Known as “The Dresden house”, it was featured on the cover of the Marshal Mathers LP him sitting on the front porch

The house was demolished in November 2013

In the song “Walk on Water” from 2017’s Revival Eminem says “As yesterday fades and the Dresden home Is burnt to the ground and all that's left of my house is lawn”
